Blending Art Deco and Contemporary Design with Traditional Crafts

Located in the heart of Indore, on a 1.5-acre plot surrounded by lush greenery, is a bungalow built for the illustrious Mittal family. The project involved constructing two bungalows, totaling 12,000 sq. ft., for two brothers. Although their needs were similar, the designs differed significantly - one was built in the Art Deco style, while the other followed a contemporary design.

Both bungalows share a common area, but the private spaces are oriented to offer outward views. The space planning has been thoughtfully executed. Traditional crafts such as Madhubani paintings, inlays, clay murals, and silver leaf work have been incorporated into the design. Another interesting feature of the bungalows is the use of double-height spaces, sloping roofs, cut-out areas, lighting, and unique treatments applied to the floors and ceilings.
