The Dr. J.J. Irani Centre for Research and Development is conceptualized as an iconic circle representing inclusiveness and sustainability. This Circular form branches out to form the Process and Product blocks creating a fully connected campus.

The louvered facade of FRP conveys Tata Steel's evolving plan of new materials and the industrial heritage. It creates a veil, a sense of mystery and discovery that is R&D. With strategically placed new landscape elements among the existing lush greenery it represents now and the future of Tata Steel and the city of Jamshedpur paving a path for the future.
